Alex and Anna tied the knot at one of Chicago’s finest luxury hotels. But they didn’t go with the classic, hotel ballroom ceremony. Instead, they opted to get married overlooking the city in the LondonHouse Chicago’s iconic cupola. This LondonHouse Chicago wedding takes place on one of the best rooftops in the city…just wait until you see the views.
Alex and Anna are high school sweethearts who tied the knot on their 10-year dating anniversary in an intimate wedding ceremony surrounded by their closest friends and family at the London House in Chicago, IL. There wasn’t a dry eye in the place as they exchanged personal vows during their intimate wedding ceremony. It was truly one of the most meaningful ceremonies I’ve had the privilege of witnessing!
Although I’ve shot quite a few proposals at the LondonHouse Chicago cupola, this was the first wedding ceremony I’ve shot there and let me tell you, IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT! The views from the cupola, which is 21 floors above Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive, are unmatched. You can see the Chicago River, the hustle and bustle on Michigan Avenue, and iconic buildings like The Wrigley Building.
If you’re interested in having your own LondonHouse Chicago wedding, you’ll need to make a reservation by emailing events@londonhousechicago.com. You can reserve the cupola at the LondonHouse Hotel for a 30- or 60-minute block. During your reserved time, the cupola is off limits to the general public. Keep in mind, this location is only appropriate for intimate ceremonies due to its smaller size.
Anna spent the morning getting dolled up by Erin Graham Hair and Murphy’s Beauty Law with her mother and soon-to-be mother-in-law in a gorgeous LondonHouse Chicago Hotel suite above the hustle & bustle of the city below. The excitement in the room was palpable! Anna slipped into her sleek Alyssa Kristin dress, pearl veil, Jimmy Choo shoes, and finished her look with a classic bouquet by Willrett Flower Company. She met Alex in the iconic cupola on the LondonHouse rooftop for their first look, where many tears were shed and sweet embraces were shared. Soon after, their immediate families arrived decked out in their sleekest black-tie attire, and settled into the cupola for the intimate ceremony led by Kari with Wedding Day Chicago. Anna and Alex shared personal vows and after ten years together, there wasn’t a dry eye in the place. Following their first kiss as Mr. & Mrs., they celebrated with champagne and hugs with their closest people.
Anna and Alex finished their perfectly intimate evening with a romantic, dimly-lit reception at Gibson’s Italia. The table was adorned with gorgeous, ivory floral arrangements and warm, glowy candles. The golden glow of the buildings along the Chicago Riverwalk were the perfect backdrop to spend their first night as husband and wife. Check out the photos to see for yourself!
