Izzy and Brett hosted their late-summer wedding at The Boulders at Black Canyon Inn in Estes Park, Colorado. The views at this Colorado wedding venue do not disappoint! With its close proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park, sweeping mountain views are inevitable and the small mountain town vibes of Estes Park are sure to make your guests feel like they’ve been transported deep into the Colorado mountains.
Izzy and Brett met while attending Western Colorado University. They were both involved in athletics – Izzy a rockstar soccer player and Brett a hall-of-fame quarterback. After graduating, they navigated long-distance for a while before settling down in Washington together. When it came time to plan their wedding, it only felt right that they get married in the state where it all began.
Izzy and Brett were married on the most gorgeous mid-September day. The ladies spent the morning sipping mimosas and lounging in their comfy, butter yellow pajamas, while the boys enjoyed some brews on the lower balcony. One of my favorite parts of The Boulders at Black Canyon Inn are the on-site getting ready suites! The bridal suite is situated on the top floor, right off of the main hallway that connects you to the ceremony room, while the groom’s suite is on the lowest level. This set-up makes it easy to capture both bride and groom getting ready moments, while still ensure the bride and groom don’t accidentally run into each other before the first look!
Izzy said one of her favorite parts of the wedding weekend was putting together the bouquets with her bridesmaids! They used Flower Moxie, a service that ships flowers straight to your doorstep and provides tutorials on how to arrange them into gorgeous bouquets! A genius, convenient way to DIY your wedding florals. These girls did an amazing job!
The Boulders at Black Canyon Inn capitalizes on the venue’s picturesque location with its huge, sweeping glass windows and multiple balconies. The lower balcony is the perfect location for enjoying cocktails al fresco with all of your guests.
Izzy and Brett lucked out with a stunning golden hour, so I had to pull them for some sunset portraits just down the way from The Boulders before the reception kicked off. Keep scrolling to see how they turned out!
I don’t always stay until the lights go off, but Izzy and Brett wanted the entire night of dancing captured, as well as their bubble exit! As you can see, the dance floor energy was top notch and it made for such a fun end to a stunning wedding day. If you haven’t already, go ahead and add those heart-shaped glasses and cowboy hat props to your list of must-have, late-night details!!

“Nicole was absolutely wonderful through our entire wedding planning process. She was organized, laid back, and professional the whole day. My husband and I are not naturals in front of the camera but she was able to direct us in a way that felt organic and still authentic to us. We are thrilled with the photos she captured for us and can’t recommend her enough!” |
