Misha and Andrew were married on the most beautiful, crisp October day at Blackstone Rivers Ranch in Idaho Springs, Colorado. Their color palette was unlike any I’d ever seen and their guests did not miss the mark on the Southwestern-inspired dress code. I was lucky enough to help photograph Misha and Andrew’s wedding day with the talented Cait Swithers Photography!
Blackstone Rivers Ranch might possibly be my favorite wedding venue just outside of Denver! It boasts upscale, modern event spaces with a tucked-away mountain feel. Just 36-miles from the city, many couples choose this venue knowing it’ll make for an easy trip for their out-of-town guests. Misha and Andrew also loved how close the venue is to the accommodations and casinos in nearby Black Hawk, Colorado.
The venue’s bridal suites are spacious and bright – perfect for those getting ready moments with your closest people. There are so many gorgeous nooks and crannies on the venue property. The covered bridge was perfect for Misha and Andrew’s first look, while their ceremony took place under the sweeping evergreen trees at the venue’s dedicated, outdoor ceremony site.
After their ceremony concluded, guests were invited to refill their drinks at the rustic bar and enjoy each other’s company along the river. The fire pits and bistro lights set the coziest atmosphere for their guests to mingle before dinner! Misha and Andrew’s reception was set underneath the venue’s large, sailcloth tent, which is always in place from May – October. Inspired by Misha’s unique dress, the color palette and floral arrangements absolutely stole the show. Somehow they perfectly blended notoriously “spring” colors with more rustic, fall foliage.
Okay okay, everyone loves golden hour for their portraits and I do too, but sometimes the timeline forces us into blue hour and I’m never mad about it! Blue hour is the time just after the sun completely disappears and the colors are so vibrant! We took Misha and Andrew’s fun-as-heck wedding party over the bridge at Blackstone Rivers Ranch for their portraits and lucked out with gorgeous light and a few lingering aspen leaves. We couldn’t have asked for a more stunning backdrop with the sound of the river babbling in the background as these newlyweds ran around laughing and pulling each other in close to stay warm.
