These two had a pretty specific vision for their Boulder, Colorado engagement photos. Sam was envisioning scenes from Pride & Prejudice, and as soon as I heard they both wanted an open field with mountains in the background, I knew the perfect location. Boulder has SO many gorgeous trailheads with sweeping views of the Flatirons, but Flatirons Vista Trailhead is one of my favorites for its versatility. You can always expect stunning mountain views, but the golden grasses and occasional opportunity to get up-close and personal with some cows are the reasons I return time & time again. Just a heads up, Boulder County does require a permit if you plan to take professional photos at any of its trailheads!

Sam + Noah may have my favorite ‘meeting story’ of all time. While Sam was living with her aunt, she’d always come home raving about this Noah guy from her co-ed hockey team. After months of persistence from her aunt, Sam finally broke down and agreed to tag along for a hockey game so she could meet this guy. Little did Sam know, she’d end up befriending Noah’s parents in the stands during the game. When the game concluded, everyone went their separate ways (Sam with her Aunt, and Noah with his parents); however, despite being completely unaware that Sam was actually there to meet their son, Noah’s mom insisted he couldn’t leave the rink until he got Sam’s number. Maybe our parents do know best sometimes?
