Mackayla and her sweet family met me at Realm for their classic Denver studio maternity photoshoot. I’ve had the privilege of documenting a few milestones for their family and they make my job feel so easy every single time…even with a toddler at nap-time.

After you scroll through the images from their gallery, you’ll never believe that their sweet son was less than thrilled to be anywhere but his bed for about 90% of the session. As a mom of two myself, I have an intimate understanding of this and I know how stressful it can feel when a mood strikes mid-photoshoot. Thankfully, Mackayla and Dan came prepared with all the snacks and they so gracefully followed Rory’s lead, letting him sit out when he needed to and being playful when he felt ready to join us!

The Clean, Classic Denver Studio Maternity Photoshoot

Mackayla and Dan chose to have their session at one of my go-to studios in Denver. Realm Denver is a natural light studio with multiple spaces, all offering their own vibe. For this session, we reserved the Open Space, which boasts huge windows that leave the coolest shadows depending on the time of day.

Mackayla and Dan went with clean and simple when it came to their maternity session outfits. I don’t care how many times I photograph a session like this, nothing is more classic in my opinion than denim and white. Gives such a lived-in feel!
