Joyful Blackstone Rivers Ranch Wedding

Katie and Zach’s joyful Blackstone Rivers Ranch wedding was just that… absolutely bursting with unshakable joy. Yeah yeah yeah, you think I say that about every wedding (because what wedding isn’t? and maybe I do), but keep scrolling to see how you literally could not wipe the smiles off of Katie and Zach’s sweet faces and their closest people radiated the same, sheer happiness the entire day!!

These two arrived at Blackstone Rivers Ranch ready to jump into their wedding attire and finally get the party started. Katie’s Mom helped her into her timeless gown and adorable bow shoes (pretty sure I complimented them about 100 times) and then we met Zach for their first look on Blackstone’s notorious covered bridge. After wedding party portraits and some photos of the soon-to-be newlyweds, everyone hid away before the ceremony. A few rain clouds showed up just as their guests were arriving, but thankfully they blew right through just before the ceremony began!

The Bright, Colorful Reception in Idaho Springs

Blackstone Rivers Ranch is one of my favorite Colorado wedding venues because of the serene cocktail hour space. Just steps away from the ceremony site and the reception tent, guests are served from a rustic shed and are free to enjoy their beverages along the river or sitting fireside at the cozy fire pit. It’s the perfect, ambient location to mingle before heading into the gorgeous sail cloth tent for dinner and dancing.

Following their grand entrance and first dance, we decided to head a few miles up the road from the venue for their sunset portraits! We played in traffic a bit and these two got to spend some quality time soaking in the fact that they were married before heading back to their party. And let me tell you, it was a party!! Their guests were not strangers to the dance floor and the sequin cowboy hats just added to the fun of the evening.
