If you’re new here, then you may not know how often I preach about planning a meaningful engagement session. It is SO important to me that my couples think deeply about how they can personalize their session. After all, these photos are meant to serve as a reminder of this exciting season in your lives!

Morgan and David took my advice and ran with it. We started their Lincoln Park engagement session strolling through a neighborhood they frequent. We wandered through the tree lined streets, taking in the gorgeous Chicago architecture and ended our walk at another meaningful location – the restaurant they dined at the night they got engaged. As if that wasn’t already the sweetest sentiment, David had actually called ahead to reserve the same table they sat at on their engagement night, and Morgan brought some of her Grandmother’s coupes for the bartender to serve their cocktails it. WHAT!!!!

We honestly could have called it quits after this and it would have still gone down as the most sentimental session of all time, but no, these two continued to leave me speechless with their thoughtfulness. We walked out of the restaurant and David shared that he’d parked his moped around the corner. When the weather is warm, they love to go for rides around the city and wanted to capture this, too.

Documentary Engagement Photos at North Avenue Beach in Chicago

For the second half of their session (yes, there is more and somehow it keeps getting better), we decided to watch the sunset at Chicago’s iconic North Avenue Beach. Morgan and David love to bring their adorable pup, Chance, here to play fetch…so that’s exactly what we did!

After the sun went down and the Chicago skyline slowly came alive, we made one last stop to the exact spot where David asked Morgan to spend the rest of her life with him. And in true David and Morgan fashion, he chose this location because it held so much meaning to their relationship. It was the exact place where they shared their first kiss before parting ways on their first date all those years ago. YOU GUYS, I truly couldn’t even make this up if I tried!! I am forever in awe of their love and cannot wait to capture their wedding day later this summer!!
