Nina and Jason are my kind of people. They didn’t hesitate for a second when I suggested we meet at dawn for their Rocky Mountain National Park engagement session. Although we were frozen by the time we climbed back into our cars, the colorful sky and golden light were SO worth the early wake-up call! We even came unbelievably close to some of Rocky Mountain National Park’s most beautiful wildlife! Keep scrolling to see for yourself!!
Nina + Jason are outdoor enthusiasts and the most adventurous souls. I swear they are exploring new trails every single weekend…rain, snow, or shine. So it was only appropriate that they chose Rocky Mountain National Park for their engagement photos.
Nina actually originally booked just a couples session with me, but little did she know, Jason would pop the question the weekend before our session! It was SO fun getting to capture their relationship so soon after their engagement. They were clearly still riding the high of saying ‘yes’ to forever with each other and I am so glad I got to capture them in this exciting season of their lives!
Rocky Mountain National Park is one of my favorite places to shoot engagement and adventure sessions any time of year. We decided to meet at Moraine Park, which is just a short drive from the Beaver Meadows entrance. Moraine Park is an expansive valley along one of the most scenic drives in all of RMNP. It is accessible year-round, but portions of the park close every so often due to inclement weather. Their session was in early October, so we caught the last of the fall colors on the drive in. At Moraine Park, the fields were golden and the alpenglow on the mountains was unreal! We also lucked out and saw a TON of wildlife.
Thinking about visiting Rocky Mountain National Park? Check out recreation.gov to see if you need to secure an entry pass! If you plan to visit Moraine Park, make sure your pass allows access to Bear Lake Road.
